The session was organised to analyse various issues covering SEZs in India today. ThePanel included eminent Speakers Shri.S.K.Samal, Joint DGFT; Dr. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, Professor, IIFT; Shri Sreedhar Pothukuchi, V.P., GMR Group; Shri Sanjay Beswal, Director, Andees Impex Pvt. Ltd. and Shri. Hitender Mehta, Partner,Vaish Associates to provide the expert suggestions pertaining to enhancing effectiveness of SEZs in India.

Shri Sanjay Beswal, Director, Andees Impex Pvt. Ltd while sharing his views on the sub theme ‘SEZs Model: Catalyst for India’s Exports’ expressed that SEZs is a perfect place for manufacturers andservice providers to enhance their exports and highlighted,the New FTP benefits from schemes like MEIS & SEIS which has beenextended to units located in SEZs .Further, the session enabled the policymakers to undertake the policy reforms for strengthening SEZs in India.

A book titled ‘SEZs in India: Criss-Cross Concerns’ prepared by PHD Research Bureau of PHD Chamber has been launched during this seminar consisting of survey-based study of issues related to SEZs and developer’s/Unit’s expectations with regard to formulation and modifications of the present SEZs policy measures.
