TMA (Transport & Marketing Assistance) Scheme extended upto 31.03.2022 with increased rates

To cope with the high shipping costs, and to boost the export of agricultural products, Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has announced the revised TMA for specified agriculture products scheme for exports made between April 1, 2021 upto March 31, 2022. Major changes in the revised scheme are:

  • Eligibility for dairy products (which were not covered earlier) for the benefits.
  • Increased rates by 50% for exports by sea; and 100% through air.
  • Apart from B/L / Airway Bill, an indemnity bond to be submitted by the exporters to refund the assistance amount in case the export does not fructify.

However, the earlier scheme will remain in operation for exports made till 31.03.2021.

DGFT will soon announce the scheme applicability along with guidelines.
